As per my experience the Mahindra Thar is the most overrated car on indian roads and i have my reasons to say that. first of all this car has a 1500 cc engine which provides only 150 bhp which i feel is less thean its competitors. Also this car has 4 seater capacity with only 2 doors which makes it not fit for being a family car. The only decent thing you can find in this car is its mileage of 15 kmpl.

I love my thar for its amazing performance. it is a head-turner and a adventurous thar. It has a great open cabin with good space, perfect for friends on an adventure. The price is a bit high, but Mahindra offers good value for what you get. it is a pleasure to drive this car, it is perfect for off-roading trips and exploring new places. it is mileage is not the great, like 7-8 kilometers per liter in the city.

I have owned a Mahindra Thar for the past 3 years and my car isn't giving me any problems. The mileage is really good. I get 16-18 kmpl in city and 21-23 on highways. Built quality is excellent. The most amazing thing about Thar is it's road presence. While driving, you'll feel like you're sitting on a elephant. I recommend this car to people who wants a car with road presence, young boys, and a small family of 3 or 4.

Mahindra Thar is a very good car and a very capable of road. In terms of engine. You get two engine options, 2.2 M stallion petrol engine turbocharged and 2 L diesel engine. They produce similar number of horsepowers, but in terms of mileage, the petrol offers nothing about 10 km perL , as if diesel offers nearly around 15 KMPL, both engines are offered in both automatic and manual. Both are six speed units. Automatic is a torque converter set up. not very efficient for city driving with a very small turning radius, but very good as a off-road as it offers 4×4 there is also two wheel drive or rear wheel drive spec available feasible for someone who travels of the road very much can be used as a weekend of road. Machine maintenance cost slightly on the higher side, overall not a very good daily commute.

I have been driving the new Mahindra Thar since 1.5 years and I had a great experience with this car. It is a perfect off roading companion with a powerful engine and durable build quality. The mileage is around 12 kmpl. The interior looks good but not premium due to the low quality panels and material. The backseat are not much comfortable and the windows can't be opened. It is not ideal for family trips. I has basically bought this car for adventurous rides and off-roading and it has never disappointed me in that field.
