Honda offers the Amaze sub-4 metre sedan with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) only with a petrol engine and in three variants - S, S (Op) and VX. The petrol-powered Amaze houses a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine that generates 88PS of power and 109Nm of torque. It is the same engine that also does duty in the Brio, WR-V and the Jazz. The CVT unit is also used in the automatic variants of the Brio and the Jazz. In the Honda Amaze CVT, the engine returns an impressive fuel-efficiency of 18.1kmpl, which is 0.3kmpl better than its manual counterparts. The CVT unit in the Amaze has six modes in its configuration - park, reverse, neutral, drive, sport and low.

The 175/65 section tyres in the Honda Amaze VX CVT come wrapped around 14-inch alloy wheels. The sedan comes with 35 litres of fuel tank capacity, 4.7 metres of minimum turning radius, 165mm of ground clearance and 400 litres of boot space. Some of the features that the top-spec VX variant gets over the S CVT variant include front fog lamps, alloy-wheels, dual airbags, turn indicator on ORVMs, automatic AC, electronically foldable ORVMs, 3D speedometer with MID (multi information display), dual trip meter, metal finish garish on instrument panel, silver inside door handles and beige floor carpeting.

The Honda Amaze is available in seven different shades of body paint - Bluish Titanium, Taffeta White, Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Black, Golden Brown Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic and White Orchid Pearl. Its list of rivals, which also feature an automatic gearbox with a petrol engine, include the Maruti Suzuki DZire AT, Ford Figo Aspire AT and Hyundai Xcent AT.
