Maruti Suzuki Swift has always been the most popular hatchback in the country ever since it was launched back in the year 2005. Swift received varied updates on and off, first in 2011 and then in 2014. Now its third generation model has been launched at the recent Auto Expo 2018. The first generation model of the Swift was an instant success and won the hearts of many customers all across the country. Right from its introduction, Swift has been featured among the top five best-selling cars in the subcontinent. The all-new Swift is built on the Heartect platform which makes the car lighter and helps enhance its performance. The charmingness of the car continues to please the people with the outer appearance retaining the same silhouette and proportions just like the original hatch. The main difference is the big hexagonal radiator grille and sharply shaped headlights that dominate the entire looks of the car and sporty bumper that has recessed front air intake. Side profile remains the same while the rear part gets chunky bumper, new wraparound tail lamps, and lowered roofline. Inside, what I liked the most is the black and grey cabin, comfortable seats with leather upholstery. The second most demanding feature which Maruti has addressed this time is the 7?touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link. The infotainment also gets inbuilt navigation, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Safety features are also up to the mark with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist. New Swift is powered by the familiar 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engines. The new thing is that the top-end variants now come mated to five-speed Auto Gear Shift transmission. Thus, new Swift has all the elements that one sees to buy a perfect car. It still gives the same set of values; fun, desirability and youthfulness for which it is known for.
