XUV500; Mahindra's all-rounder

Hi, my name is Prabhraj Singh. I bought a Mahindra XUV500 in March 2016. I own a chain of restaurants in Jaipur and needed a comfortable family car, which can also be used to carry some heavy luggage as and when needed. Let me start off by saying that the car is fantastic. Yes, it has its ups and downs but all over, the SUV is really great. It fulfills both the personal and professional requirements with ease. The car has a powerful engine and a lot of space. The space in the cabin and the leg room on the second row is adequate. Folding the last row really opens up a lot of loading space. The car drives and handles well. The first gear is a little short but other than that, the power delivery is good. Steering is good and lets you have control over the car at all times. I have driven the car at 160kmph and it was smooth and very stable. The suspension of the car is also very well adjusted and is really comfortable in city drives. I have been to a few off-road rallies organized by Mahindra and the car was phenomenal. It glides over rough terrains and never gets stuck, however, the plastic used inside is of very ordinary quality. Mahindra really should have used better quality plastic bits. The sound system of the car is also below average. The speakers are of bad quality and its best if you get new ones installed. The gearbox is really good and feels good to use. The AC is good in the first and the last row but, not adequate for the second row. Seats also are not very comfortable. But, even after all that, the overall package remains wonderful. These small things never ruin the overall experience of owning a Mahindra XUV500.
