Performance:- A Bad Joke Even with the sports mode, the 1.2L engine lacks a punch The top end comes with Gear shift optional inn sports mode which I would say is rather redundant considering that the power output of the engine is so low! But considering only city usage, I would say that the 1.2L i VTEC in sports mode packs more than enough power to brush through traffic. Just don't have high expectations when overtaking in highways. 7/10 Mileage:- Another Bad Joke Current mileage in Chennai traffic with AC, 10kmpl. In highways max achieved, 13kmpl (please note that data as per reasonable driving conditions, if driven like a maniac mileage can drop lower than 7kmpl). I don't mind really, but don't be fooled by Honda's ridiculous claims of 18kmpl. 5/10 Driving comfort:- Here is where the Automatic Jazz comes to life. The smooth engine and transmission system make it an absolute pleasure to ride. One taste of the transmission system and you'll never go back to manual again. There are some pretty shitty automatic transmissions in the market and Honda sets a rather high benchmark for others to follow. 10/10 Value for Money:- At 8.2L on road, go for the Honda Jazz automatic if you're looking for a frustration free ride in traffic. Of course, would not recommend over the baleno but then again who has the patience to wait 6 months for a car?? Talking about the resale value, bummer. Again better off with another brand, would not recommend if plan to sell within 3 years of purchase. But for me, I felt the value is quite good with excellent customer support and serviceability. 7/10 Seating comfort:- Spacious! Being 6ft tall and having the habit of reclining the Driver's seat fully to the dismay of anyone sitting behind (usually happens in Hatchbacks). But with the Jazz no problems whatsoever concerning leg spacing. But then again, whether it is still justifiable to consider the Jazz as a hatchback is another question altogether lol No armrest in the automatic base model, which is a bummer but upgraded with a rather cheap replacement from Amazon. 9/10 Sound System:- For me, the ease of use of the car sound system is a deal-breaker. Although the music system needs replacement by any budding audiophile standards, the interface is pleasant to use and that's good. Bluetooth clarity is up to the mark with seamless AUX and USB connectivity. 8/10 Verdict:- 8/10. Honda Jazz Automatic base model priced at 8.2L is a reasonable price-value proposition for city commute. It combines the hatch maneuvering with sedan like interior spacing and good boot space. Ride height is also very practical and has been redesigned considering Indian roads. Only downside is the tough competition faced by the Maruti Baleno which might make decision making quite painful for the buyer! Pros:- Immediate Delivery Good discounts and Extras Good service Honda engine is smooth as honey Driving pleasure is excellent Spacious as hell Cons:- Length-wise as long as a sedan! Not Powerful Poor mileage than expected from 1.2L engine Price might be little hard to digest
