The No-Nonsense Car, A Wise Mature Choice!!

I have purchased this car in the month of December 2018, after a lot of searches, I'm a big-time fan of SUV's from the time I started driving but our budget is 10 lakh, so then we shortlisted Bolero, Thar, TUV300, Nexon. But in Bangalore you get the most basic models of these SUV's and moreover you will need to compromise on a lot of basic creatures comforts on these vehicles except for TUV300 & Tata Nexon, I read a lot of reviews of these compact SUV's and got to meet the real-time owners of these vehicles, fuel efficiency is pretty low for TUV300 and Tata Nexon has truly increased the sales for Tata, but we were doubtful about the aftersales service for Tata. So my focus shifted to compact hatchbacks then again shortlisted Swift, Elite I20, Baleno, Etios Cross, and Etios Liva. We ruled out Swift because of the back seat comfort & safety although it is a most stylish modern looking car. Elite I20 - We see only basic models for the price we pay and a lot of compromise on the features. Baleno - Safety rating seems pretty low compared to other cars and it's a lite weight car, moreover the same old 1.3-liter engine. Finally Etios Cross & Etios Liva - I test driven both the cars, Etios Cross & Etios Liva Dual tone has the similar ground clearance, same alloy wheels the only cosmetic exterior plastic cladding and roof rails are a major difference, Etios cross is a bit more expensive than regular Liva. So we shortlisted Liva the dual tone black & white VD version. The experience of driving this car is phenomenal moreover I think from previous generations of Liva the car interiors have been improved a lot with plush interiors. Sometimes I feel like I'm driving an SUV due to its wide interiors, it can easily seat 5 people. Dual tone color combinations are very attractive I chose black & white. So far the mileage is pretty decent I'm getting 21 without AC and the ride comfort is lovely. We chose Etios Liva because of the low-cost maintenance, Toyota Brand Trust and a lot of my family members have the same car. Driving in the city is a pure joy the short gear shifts and short clutch and acceleration are truly amazing! The only cons I would say is there are no speed sensing locks, distance to empty and automatic climate control. But anyway I can still live without all that. So if you are looking for the no-nonsense frugal everyday car I would suggest going ahead with this car. You will not be disappointed at all. This review is only for the diesel version not sure about petrol.
