A few nags still there in TATA

I own the Tata Zest petrol XT. The fit and finish of the vehicle is very good as compared to the earlier Tata vehicles especially the paint quality is very good. A lot of deliberation went in when we decided to buy this car. Our earlier experience with the Tata Indica Vista V2 was extremely negative, somehow we mustered up our courage to go for this car. Our choice had narrowed down to three cars - Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and the Swift Dzire. The Zest bowled us over with its features, design details of the interiors and the subtle looks. We have owned this car now for about 20 months. It lacks the refinement of the Maruti. There have been some issues which have not been resolved. The first complaint was of the outside temperature gauge it displays incorrect reading. The engine lacks the refinement, it feels a bit rough. In this rainy season the air conditioner stopped working and suddenly started working on its own. The brakes emnate a screeching sound if the vehicle is not used for a few days. After a few kilometers the sound vanishes. I sometimes wonder - How will this car drive after a few more years of use?
