The German automobile giant Volkswagen, isn’t just the worlds second largest automaker but also an innovator and a trendsetter at its core. With revolutionary products like Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Bus, the company has been a key contributor to the history by redefining the way people commuted. CarDekho made a first hand expert review of the latest addition to the Volkswagen family, Volkswagen Touareg, with Rachit Hirani. Being a revolutionary company, the front fascia of the Touareg follows the traditional looks of a Volkswagen with the twin chrome grille which can be traced in almost all the Volkswagens. The headlamps of the Touareg remind one of the Polo. As Rachit observes, the inclination towards luxury SUVs is more than luxury sedans due to the issue of low ground clearance in sedans which might hamper the off road journeys as well as places with considerable speed breakers. This feature makes the customers prefer an SUV as it offers better ground clearance and improved performance. The interiors of the new Touareg are reminiscent of a traditional Volkswagen, reflecting the style and class the vehicle offers, giving a feel of the premium Jetta. The interiors are designed with rich wood and metal embellishments. The touchscreen included in the latest models feature multimedia controls and rear parking camera display. The minimal controls help in going through all the features easily. The legroom is amplified in the Touareg and the sunroof helps in giving a panoramic view of the surrounding in an open way. The boot space is also more with controls to adjust the position of the rear seats better.
