Maruti Suzuki Ciaz automatic how does it perform mainly on highways?

Completed 20K on my Ciaz auto with regular highway runs. To sum up, the power is just about there. Nothing exceptional. The 4 speed auto works fine as long as your throttle input is calculated and gentle. A spirited slam on the accelerator will only confuse this box and the gear hunting becomes very apparent, all this while there is very little noticeable difference in the performance.This car is more of gentle cruiser. The ride is neither soft nor too stiff, it's in-between. Space is the biggest USP of this car and out on the highways, the light interiors and the vast glass area gives the car a very roomy feel. And then comes the fuel efficiency. Well this is where I believe Ciaz scores good well. On paper everything actually looks very doubtful. A 1.4 liter, petrol engine mated to a 4 speed Torque Converter auto box for such a big car!! Well in reality, things are very, very different. With a heavy foot (including sudden spurts of power for overtaking), 100% AC, 5 adults including luggage and at speeds of between 100 to 110 (Avg), I see a fuel consumption figure of around 16 KMPL (constant). In city (100% AC), I see the mileage dropping to 13 at the worst (this is still running without a oil change, will be going for it soon)!To sum up mate, this car can get the work done. You may miss the 'Wow' factor, but it's a pretty practical piece of machine for everyday use.

The Ciaz continues to get the basics of space, ride quality and ease of driving spot on. This alone, in our books, are enough reasons to seriously consider buying one. Then there's the fact that the new engine brings with it a bucket load of efficiency and also solves the automatic’s drinking habit to a fair extent. Hence, it is an amazing choice to go for if you are looking for a feature loaded car with great drivability.
