Hyundai Creta, Indian Car Of The Year 2016, has some sweet fragrance that attracts customers. The good aroma emanates from the boldness of the exteriors, comfort and covinience of the interiors, the muscular engine and the hassle-free maintenance. This was also the reason why I got my hands on this car. My step by step comprehensive review of the Creta is as follows:- Exteriors:- The fluid design of the Creta is fancied by everyone. The bold and SUVish looks not only enhances the appeal of the car, but it also makes it look majestic. From the first moment itself, the customer is drawn towards the deluxe appearance of the car. The three slat front grille, stylish headlamps and tail lamps, shark fin antenna and the roof rails creates the it's masculine looks. The ground clearance of 190 mm is the highest in it's segment with the tyres offering plenty of grip. The R17 diamond-cut alloys additionally enhances the sporty look of the car. Interiors:- The cabin comes with refreshing new looks and provision for lots of comfort. The interiors are dual toned and very neat. The car also comes with extra storage space to cover up anybody's daily usage. This includes the door map pocket, rear package tray, seat back pocket, centre armrest with storage compartment, rear armrest with cup holders, sunglass holder and the large boot of 400 litres that add to passenger convenience. The seats are large and well-built which offers even a tall person offers sufficient amount of knee room and thigh support and provide ample space for 3 people. However the cabin lacks a touch of premium feel which could do with some improvement. Ride and Handling:- The significant part of the Creta is it's engine performance and the ride quality. The engine's strength of driving performance is irrevocable. The vehicle is powered with a 1.6 litre Dual VTVT petrol engine which is extremely robust and delivers 123 ps of power and 15.4 kgm of torque. The 6-speed manual gearbox helps in accelerating more smoothly. An automatic option is also available. The engine is well refined without making a single sound. The suspension delivers a smooth and a stable ride. The impressive mileage of 12-14 kmpl of mileage on the roads and 15 kmpl on highways with the fuel tank capacity of 55 litres is a useful feature, making it less time-consuming for you to refill fuel. Safety Features:- Each and every passenger deserves safety. The car comes packed with a 6 airbag system which is only available on the top trim but 2 airbags standard across all variants. Other features like the ABS with EBD and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Rear Parking Assist System, Follow Me Headlamps, Anti-pinch window and the Height-Adjustable Seat Belt anchor makes the safety best-in-class by following a simple principle of 'Everyone has the right on safety'. Service and Maintenance:- Service is something vital that every buyer has to keep in mind when buying a car and Hyundai is the brand which any buyer can depend on. The service and maintenance costs are miniscule and the spare parts readily available. The service centres are well distributed across any city. The quality of service is efficient and speedy. The 3 year warranty period is an additional convenience to the customer, adding to the endless list of reasons as to why one should purchase this car. Verdict:- To conclude my review, I can confidently state that the Hyundai Creta is a complete package with all the desired features of a SUV. The Exteriors and the Ride Quality are perfect but the lack of premium feel when it comes to interiors is something that needs to improve. The price range of Rs. 9 to 14 lakhs is slightly on the steep side for buyers with a stipulated budget but they will be compelled to stretch their purse because of the attractiveness of the whole package. I am very sure that the sweet vibes of the Creta which attracted me to buy it will definitely overwhelm the other potential buyers too.
