A Duster in new clothes

Recently, I got a chance to check out the new Captur at a mall. The Captur looked stunning with dual tone exteriors and those audi-like floating turn indicators. I couldn?t stop myself from taking a look at the SUV. Its front looks the best with those floating turn indicators and that C-shaped DRL LEDs housing the fog lamps. The rear of the car looked quite similar, the top half resembled the smaller Kwid, while the lower half resembled the Duster. When I sat inside the car, I was bit disappointed. The interior quality seemed quite similar to the Duster but the golden inserts around the cabin were definitely attention-grabbing. The touchscreen infotainment system it had on offer was the same 7-inch unit previously seen on the Duster and the Kwid. It would have been better if had Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality. Safety offered is good as it gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD as standard. But it would have been better if curtain airbags were on offer, at least on top-spec Platine Variant. Captur also gets the same engine options as seen on the Duster and is offered only with a manual transmission. I would have loved to have the automatic version considering the increasing traffic in the city. Prices were not confirmed but it is expected to land in the territory of the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. At last, if I am asked to comment on the Captur in one line, I would say it?s a Duster in new clothes.
