India's Most Successful Car Brand
With nearly 4.3 million units on the road, Maruti Alto is India's most successful car brand but its sales have suffered in the recent past as consumer preference has shifted to bigger, more premium cars. In fiscal 2021, its 16-year reign at the top came to an end and last year, sales skidded further to a 17-year low. To arrest the slide, Maruti has brought back the K10 that was discontinued in 2020 and hopes it would help Alto get back to the perch.
